Draws Made For Indoors

The draws have been made for this years Indoor Cycle Speedway Championships with Birmingham looking to come away with some silverware.

In the Open Team event Birmingham have been drawn against Bury, Stockport, East Park and Horspath in Semi Final 2. If they can overcome that they could face any from a tough Semi Final 1 of Leicester, Wednesfield, Sheffield, Poole and Ipswich.

In the under 19 event Scott Millward will be battling in the qualifier on Saturday. Facing 24 other keen riders looking to take the winning jersey Millward will have to be on top of his game from the start to make sure he gets enough points to make the final. Welsh Internationals Ben Mould, Marc Carmichael are in the lineup alongside the Kemp brothers and also Poole’s Tom Reed who has previously won the title. Scott has finished 3rd and 2nd in the past so will be eager to finish one better!

In the Open Qualifier Monarchs have two representatives in Nathan Groves and Scott Millward who has a busy days racing ahead of him. Yet again it looks like a tough qualifier on paper. Chris Timms has been drawn direct straight into the semi finals with the likes of Steve Harris, Mark Boaler and Shaun Rudman.

The Veterans final sees Birmingham again represented as Paul Timms and Stephen Hodgkinson will do battle in the red and white of the Monarchs. After a break Steve has comeback into Cycle Speedway like a duck to water and next season can only get better. Paul Timms will be looking to lift the trophy but will have a battle on his hands against England International Steve Harris.
