This weekend all the action is set to take place at Coventry’s Hearsall Common track with Monarchs riders involved in both days. Saturday sees round 3 of the YJL for the mini Monarchs whilst Sunday it’s Midland League action with our first away match of the league campaign.
Monarch youngsters are well placed in the competition and it’s expected several of the Birmingham riders will be making the trip across the Midlands on Saturday.
Connor Steel will be looking to add to his 4 point lead in the U12’s whilst it’s hoped both Dylan Hawtin and Jamie Breen will be involved with both well placed whilst it’s hoped Rebekah Humphries will be back in action.
It’s hoped Charlie Buet Gannon will be challenging for an A final place again having had experience of the Coventry track earlier in the season.
The more senior juniors will be looking to add points after a tough series so far and should be looking forward to racing on an excellent Coventry race track.
The club are still reeling from the break in last Sunday and there was no track action at Birmingham Sunday. British Cycling launched the new Battle of Britain competition over the weekend with the Midlands region racing at Leicester against the South/South East.
Ewan Hancox was the only Birmingham representative in the junior team who took a last gasp win in the final heat, with Hancox finishing 3rd highest scorer on paid 15 points.
Sunday will see our first away ML fixture with all 3 teams involved in Coventry. Juniors on track first at 1PM. Veteran Monarchs make the long trip to Northumbria on Saturday for the opening round of the Eurovets series.
