The Birmingham Monarchs entertain Coventry on Sunday in Midland League action start time 1PM (for juniors) at Perry Hall Playing fields.
The resurgent Hearsall Common outfit have gone from strength since they reformed after a period of time out of the sport and always have a great variety of talented riders.
British international Myke Grimes leads the side whilst talented Mason Phillips is making big strides in the sport right now.
The Monarchs are still without a couple of their lower order riders whilst number one Chris Timms is still a doubt due to his ongoing knee injury.
Despite these issues the Monarchs have won both of their league matches so far and will be looking to maintain that unbeaten run.
Racing starts at 1PM with the juniors whilst senior actions starts at 2PM.
A Birmingham ‘select’ team took part in the European Club championships in Poland last weekend but failed to qualify for the semi finals. The final was an all Polish affair with Ostrow being crowned champions whilst none of the British teams made the final.
Monarch juniors rode in the East Park invitation on Sunday. Ryan Winwood finished 2nd with Connor Steel 3rd.
The veteran Monarchs started their Eurovets series campaign last week at the new track in Stoke, Birmingham riders won all age categories last year.
All 3 Monarchs on show failed to make the A final this time. Paul Timms (5th) and Steve Hodgkinson (6th) in the 50’s whilst Mark Winwood finished 8th in the 40’s.
Training continues on Tuesdays (Seniors) and Thursday (juniors) 6-8PM and newcomers of all abilities are welcome to take part. Helmet and bike provided.
