Birmingham Monarchs travel to East Park this weekend looking to stay top of the pile in what could be a pivotal meeting to where the Midland League trophy could be heading.
The Monarchs and East Park have both had great seasons so far with the Wolverhampton side only losing once, away to Birmingham. Only three points separate the sides and though both teams have other meetings to negotiate before October, both know a win here will give confidence to go and lift the title.
Birmingham will be hoping to welcome back Chris Timms and Scott Millward this weekend who both missed wins against Leicester and Wednesfield Dragons due to work. The vets trio of Paul Timms, Mark Winwood and Steve Hodgkinson will be in the lineup after their exploits in Newport at the Eurovets. Hodgkinson has a hand injury but no doubt will shake this off and get on the shale.
East Park have won five of their six meetings so far just losing away at Birmingham in June. The Wolves will have hard chargers Jamie Ball and Matt Smith who both do not need introductions. The Whetton brothers will look to feature in the first team as well with Brandon and Jamie as they will look to lower the colours of the Perry Barr visitors.
Racing begins at 2pm in what will be cracking meeting between the top two teams in the division.
