Monarchs In Midland 2014

British Cycling confirmed that Birmingham Monarchs will be dropped from the Elite League in 2014. The Monarchs who finished bottom of the table this year will see their place taken by Newport who won the South East Division this term.

Birmingham will be at the tapes in March for the Midland League though it has not been confirmed from the club if they are going to join the new Friendly League next year. The Monarchs were looking at hosting challenge fixtures next season as well as going on the road against fellow regional sides.

With this news the rumour mill has been going with the trio of Chris Timms, Nathan Groves and Mark Winwood and who they will be riding for in the Elite League in 2014.

Birmingham will be looking to hold an AGM after the Midland AGM which takes place on 3rd November at Wednesfield’s Ashmore Park.
