Winwood Duo Impress in Final
Young chargers Ryan and Reece Winwood competed in the Under 13 Final at Coventry’s Hearsall Common this week. The brothers who were up against some tough competition and home riders did not disgrace themselves as Reece picked up 14 points and Ryan 8.
This weekend sees just a handful of Monarchs riders in action as Birmingham have a blank weekend fixture wise.
Sunday sees Bury facing Edinburgh in the Northern League. Chris Parrish’s Comets look to have a tough fixture ahead of them as both sides are currently in second place in the league with the winning side going joint top with Stockport.
Sunday Southampton hold a 50th anniversary meeting with a under 19 and senior individual meeting to celebrate the half century. Joe Kemp will be in the draw for the under 19 event which starts at 1pm and he faces tough opposition with home riders Dan Miller, Hayden Chant and Josh Robertson in the lineup as well as hard charger Matt Smith, ex Monarch Jack Harrold.
In the senior draw Chris Timms has been given an invite to the meeting at Winchester Road a week after riding in the British Team Cup. Like the under 19 lineup it is a tough one and a hard one to pick a winner from. Local rider Gavin Wheeler looked strong on his home track last weekend but add the Aces trio of Aris, Heard and Mould as well as the Poole riders of Harris, Glover and Gluchowski and also Nowacki and Carmichael it looks set to be a tight and close meeting in Hampshire.
