Sunday may of been a bad day for some of the senior Monarch riders but this weekend the youngsters showed that their the future is looking good for the West Midlands side.
On Saturday the British Youth & Junior League rolled into Hearsall Common. Round two of the series saw Ryan Winwood finish in second place in the under 10’s section just missing out on the top spot.
Dylan Hexley won the under 12’s easing to victory in the final over Leicester’s Jimmy Wassal two make it two from two. Hexley has made a fantastic start to the GP style series for the next crop of Cycle Speedway stars and has also been scoring well in the Monarchs second team.
Oliver Riley took his place at round two at Great Blakenham. Looking to improve on his 4th place finish from the first round in Hethersett, Riley finished 2nd just behind Richard Fellgett who has a 100% record.
Konrad Pietek came out top scorer for Coventry as they won away to East London on Sunday. Pietek who has raced for Birmingham in the Elite last season has looked sharp since coming back over from Poland this season after putting in a solid display against the Monarchs a fortnight ago.
