Chris Timms will be looking to defend his title and make it three year in a row as he takes his place in the Christine Ellis Memorial on Bank Holiday Monday.
Timms pipped Aces rider Ben Mould and Polish star Nowacki last year over twenty gruelling heats. The year before that Timms was again on the top step that time again beating welshman Mould and Lewis Bates.
The lineup this year looks just as tough with fifteen riders all looking to wrestle the title off the grips of the Birmingham rider. Ben Mould will be looking to go one better, just missing out on the last couple of years. Other riders looking to lower the colours of the Monarchs captain are Aces own Chris Jewkes, Ricki Johnson, Paul Heard and Scott Doherty. Sheffield and British Champ Andy Angell and Monarchs Scott Millward will also be in the meeting which is looking to escape the snow and ice that has had a hold on most of the country this past week.
In the Womens Dash Trophy meeting Lauren Davies will be looking to defend her title though she will have strong competition from the Sheffield pair of Vicky Brown and Sandra Tamborska. Courtney Aris and Charlie Ellitts will be holding the honours for the Ashmore Park club.
