This weekend sees many of the Monarchs riders busy on the shale up and down the country as the season begins to hit full swing.
On Saturday Newport host the second round of the Welsh Grand Prix. Mark Winwood won the Open group last Saturday and will no doubt be looking to make it two from two.
Sunday sees Birmingham without a fixture at the time of writing as Stoke sadly dropped out of the Midland League. The Monarchs are though looking to either hold a training session or face opposition to help the lads fitness levels ahead of a busy summer.
Newport begin the South Western League with a trip to Horspath Hammers. The principality based club have dual registered riders in Mattie Davis, Nick Evans (pictured) and Kieran Jones who will be wearing the red and white for Birmingham in the Elite. Evans looked in the groove already when the Monarchs travelled to Wednesfield for a warm up meeting and will no doubt be looking forward to team up with Winwood and the rest of the Welsh team as they look to defend the Nations Cup in just over a fortnights time.
